Raleigh Space Riders
Good evening!
I was wondering if anyone knows the location of any Raleigh Space Rider
women's bicycles for sale?
According to some literature sent to me by a friend in England, the old Space
Riders had a 16 inch frame and 24" wheels; perfect for the more petite riders.
I think they were popular in the mid-1960's, early 1970's. They also presented
a choice of hand brakes or coaster brakes. The model I'd be interested in would
have hand brakes for the front and coaster brakes for the rear and, of course,
3 speed Sturmey Archer internal hub gears.
I would be very interested in information about these bikes which seem to be
difficult to find.
A vintage ARMSTRONG bicycle would also interest me. Armstrong was taken over
by Raleigh in the mid-1960's and the one I had was a "petite" framed Ladie's bike.
Thank you very much.
Enjoy your evening.

Raleigh's, Space Rider and Colt!
I saw the ad that you were looking for a Raleigh Space Rider and thought I would reply. Mine is the 16 inch that you mentioned and 24 inch wheels/tires but seems to me it is a male type as the top bar comes toward the seat and the slopes downward! Didnt know if you were interested in that one and I am also fixing up a Raleigh Colt with 26 inch wheels. Fixing as in I need to put new tires and tubes on it and pedalling it and shifting to see if everything works or not! The only thing is I cannot for the life of me seem to find the serial number so that I can date it! All I can find is an x and an o stamped on the bottom and thats it! It has a rack original to that era! Both bikes are red!!
Just a thought to see if you were interested I do ship bikes, once I have received either postal money order or pay pal! Thank You have a good night!!

Vintage Raleigh Space Rider
Hi, I have exactly what you're looking for--a gorgeous green Raleigh Space Rider. I collect bikes, so a friend gave it to me as a gift. It's too small, but I've been reluctant to give it up. However, I am moving & need to clear some things out of my basement. Please let me know if you are still interested. You can also email me directly on modsquadgirl@hotmail.com
